Derek Fisher fears the NBA season won't start on time after the latest setback in labor negotiations.

One down, two big issues to go for an agreement that would end the NBA lockout. It may not happen this weekend, but players and owners both say they are working to get there soon enough that the season can start on time. “All I’ll say is there was a sense of urgency in the room today,” NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver said after the sides met for more than four hours Friday.

Charity game with James, Wade, Bosh set (AP)

The idea was hatched a couple weeks ago when LeBron James was among a small group reaching out to Isiah Thomas about the possibility of hosting a star-studded charity game at Florida International as a way to connect with fans during the NBA lockout. Bologna prez confident Bryant will sign (AP)

The president of Virtus Bologna is optimistic Kobe Bryant will sign with the Italian club during the NBA lockout despite scheduling problems posed by other teams. Claudio Sabatini told The Associated Press on Friday that Bryant’s agent Rob Pelinka agreed to an arrangement for 35 to 40 days worth more than $3 million — for about 10 games.

SEC rejects Cuban’s misconduct claims (AP)

A watchdog report says Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has no grounds to claim that Securities and Exchange Commission attorneys engaged in misconduct in an insider trading case against him. Pistons C Wallace arrested for DUI, gun (AP)

Authorities in suburban Detroit say Detroit Pistons center Ben Wallace has been charged with drunken driving and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon after a traffic stop. Bloomfield Township police said Thursday that the 37-year-old Wallace was arrested about 3 a.m. Saturday after officers observed a Cadillac Escalade being driven erratically. Read Original Post Here

Ex-Blazer Sabonis has heart attack (AP)

Basketball Hall of Famer Arvydas Sabonis is in stable condition after suffering a heart attack. Doctors in Sabonis’ hometown of Kaunas, Lithuania, said Wednesday that the former NBA player is in intensive care, but the heart attack is not life-threatening. The 46-year-old Sabonis was taken to a hospital Tuesday night after going into cardiac arrest while playing basketball. Read Original Post Here

Murder suspect Crittenton free on bail (AP)

Former Wizards player Javaris Crittenton leaves D.C. Superior Court in January.

Authorities say ex-NBA player Javaris Crittenton is free on bail after he was charged with murder in an August drive-by shooting. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said Crittenton was released at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. Fulton County Magistrate Judge Karen Woodson allowed Crittenton to go free on $230,000 bond after hearing testimony Tuesday from the player’s friends and coaches.
