Hawks extend lead for last playoff spot (AP)

Marvin Williams scored 27 points and Joe Johnson had 23 to help the Atlanta Hawks win their third straight, 114-109 over the New York Knicks on Sunday. The Hawks increased their lead over New Jersey to 2 1/2 games for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race. New York dropped to 7-29 on the road and has lost two straight and seven of eight overall.
