Szczerbiak misses game to be with wife (AP)

Wally Szczerbiak missed Cleveland’s game against Minnesota on Friday night to be with his wife, Shannon, who is expecting the couple’s third child. Bosh leaves game with sore right knee (AP)

Toronto star Chris Bosh left the Raptors’ game against the Indiana Pacers on Friday night late in the first quarter with a sore right knee. Team officials said Bosh would not return to the game and will undergo further examination. The forward went to the locker room during a Raptors timeout with 2:23 left in the quarter. Report: Knight wanted to fire Woodson (AP)

Sonics C Swift to have more knee surgery (AP)

SuperSonics center Robert Swift is headed for another knee surgery and is likely out for the season after playing in just eight games. The 7-footer, who had been slow to recover from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee that cost him all of last season, will undergo surgery March 4 to repair a torn lateral meniscus in the same knee. Bobcats waive part-time starter McInnis (AP)

The Charlotte Bobcats waived guard Jeff McInnis on Friday. The team provided no explanation for the decision. No surgery planned for Wizards’ Butler (AP)

Washington Wizards All-Star forward Caron Butler has a prescription of rest and rehab — with no plans for surgery — to deal with the latest twist in his return from a hip injury. An MRI exam this week found that Butler has a small labral tear of the left hip joint. The injury, which has sidelined him for nearly a month, had originally been diagnosed as a strained hip flexor. Ratliff expected to sign with Pistons (AP)

76ers cut playoff-eligible G Giricek (AP)

Guard Gordan Giricek was released by the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, allowing the veteran a chance to be eligible for the postseason if he signs with another team.
