Shaq’s 14-year All-Star streak ends (AP)

Someone told Shaquille O’Neal a few days ago that he wasn’t selected for the All-Star Game, an erroneous statement at the time only because the coaches’ votes still hadn’t been counted. Those votes are now in. And O’Neal is indeed out. Ending his record-tying streak of 14 straight All-Star selections, the Miami Heat center was not on the list of Eastern Conference reserves released Thursday for the… Read Original Post Here

The Charlotte Bobcats signed Earl Boykins on Thursday, adding depth at point guard. Miller lifts Kings over Bobcats 105-91 (AP)

Charlotte Bobcats' Gerald Wallace (3) is fouled on a fast break from behind by Sacramento Kings' Mikki Moore during the second half NBA basketball game in Sacramento, Calif., Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. The Kings won the game 105-91.

Slimmed-down Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller lost 25 pounds this summer, but may have been prouder of the 21 rebounds he collected Wednesday night. Nicknamed “Skinny” this summer by Kings coach Reggie Theus, Miller looked absolutely huge against the Charlotte Bobcats, scoring 22 points and establishing a new career high for rebounds in leading the Kings to a 105-91 victory.

Cavs beat Blazers on LeBron’s late layup (AP)

It is not good to make LeBron James angry. Frustrated by a couple of blocked shots, James took over against the Portland Trail Blazers and made a reverse layup with less than a second left to give the Cleveland Cavaliers an 84-83 victory Wednesday night. James scored 17 points in the fourth quarter — two more than the entire Portland team.

Utah’s Deron Williams has had a double-double in five straight games and his team has won a season-high six in a row. It’s pretty simple to see the correlation. Williams had 22 points and 12 assists to lead the Jazz to a 100-89 victory over the short-handed New York Knicks on Wednesday night. The Jazz led by as much as 17, let the Knicks close within three, then finished them off in the final few…
